Setting Boundaries

This day and age, it’s becoming easier and easier to transform into a workaholic.

The more we work, the more money we make. The more money we make, the more comfortably we live, the higher status we achieve, the nicer things we can buy, etc.

We fall into an unhealthy relationship with our work, and it consumes us to the point where we don’t know how to step away for even a day!

Next thing you know, we are working through the weekends!

Neither the brain or nervous system is designed to be stimulated at such a level, with no time off.

Our mental health takes a backseat to our careers completely.

But it is just as important, if not more important, than our physical and it’s about time we start prioritizing it over our work.

You see, your brain is a muscle…

If you use a muscle for longer than it can withstand, it begins to fail. It stops functioning at full capacity and can only perform at a less than optimal level

This is where burnout comes into play. We work, work, work, and don’t give ourselves even a day to rest!

Our minds become foggy, so we fuel ourselves with caffeine and try to push through.

What we actually need is rest

Set boundaries for yourself. Hire on a virtual assistant to take care of weekend tasks so you don’t have to!

Taking a break, even just for a day, allows for us to rest and reset.

In turn, our minds stay fresh, alert, and ready to tackle the next task when it comes time.

So push yourself away from the computer, turn your devices to silent, tag in your VA, and give yourself a break.

You’ve earned it!
